“I hate that I smoke, I can’t seem to stop, I don’t have the willpower”
Congratulations on your thinking about stopping smoking or you wouldn’t be reading this now!
My stop smoking plan looks at resetting your body naturally to that of a non-smoker, after all you weren’t born smoking.
When we want to make changes we always think “wouldn’t it be great if we had a magic wand?” – the good news is that you do have a magic wand – it’s called your mind ! The majority of smokers on this programme expect to achieve it by being told of the terrible health risks, what a disgusting habit it is, how you smell of smoke or the financial costs, I don’t patronise, you already know all of this, these are the problems associated with smoking, smokers do not smoke for the reasons they shouldn’t smoke, in order to make a permanent change you need to remove the reasons why you do smoke, this programme removes the desire to smoke, once the desire to smoke has been removed, you don’t need to use will power.
Your mind can enable you to escape from smoking:
- Without use of willpower
- Without suffering withdrawal symptoms
- Without putting on weight
- Without using shock tactics, pills, patches, e cigarettes or other gimmicks
And further more:
- There is no initial period of feeling deprived or miserable
- You immediately enjoy social occasions more
- You feel more confident and better equipped to handle stress
- You don’t have to spend the rest of your life having to resist the temptation of having the occasional cigarette
- You find it easy to escape smoking!
HOWEVER please note that as you are about to find out, your mind is incredibly powerful in a negative or positive way, if you are not ready to stop then you won’t stop, no one can do this for you.
I’m not going to patronise you with gory details of why you shouldn’t smoke, that won’t help you nor am I going to tell you what to do, smokers do not like being told what to do but you do need to have reached your enough point. Reaching your had enough point will ensure that you have drive and passion, drive and passion creates resilience, all vital ingredients to making a change.
Fast facts on quitting smoking:
The benefits of quitting smoking begin in as little as 1 hour after the last cigarette.
The sooner a smoker quits, the faster they will reduce their risk of cancer, heart and lung disease, and other conditions related to smoking.
Almost immediately after finishing a cigarette, the heart rate and blood pressure slowly return to normal.
After 1 hour -In as little as 20 minutes after the last cigarette is smoked, the heart rate drops and returns to normal. Blood pressure begins to drop, and circulation may start to improve.
After 12 hours After just 12 hours without a cigarette, the body cleanses itself of the excess carbon monoxide from the cigarettes. The carbon monoxide level returns to normal, increasing the body’s oxygen levels.
After 1 day a persons oxygen levels will have risen and the chance of a heart attack decreases.
After 2 days, a person may notice a heightened sense of smell and more vivid tastes as these nerves heal.
After 3 days most people will experience moodiness and irritability, severe headaches, and cravings as the body readjusts but these soon begin to dissipate.
After 1 month As the lungs heal and lung capacity improves, former smokers may notice less coughing and shortness of breath. Athletic endurance increases and former smokers may notice a renewed ability for cardiovascular activities, such as running and jumping.
After 9 months – the lungs have significantly healed themselves and the chances of heart attacks and strokes are greatly reduced.
