I was recently lucky enough to spend a weekend in the Lake District, it was a last minute decision to go and even though it was a bit hectic trying to get everything ready at the last minute, it was well worth it in the end.
The weather was good and being February there were not too many tourists around, always a bonus in an area that gets 15 million visitors a year!.
It was a perfect opportunity to recharge our batteries and switch off from our day to day jobs and demands. Getting out and about in the UK is something I love doing and is certainly on my top 5 list of things to do, years ago I completed a values exercise and at the time I wondered why I hadn't had a mini break for a long time, I soon rectified that !.
I love it when my clients complete a similar exercise looking at the things that are really important to them, the exercise highlights that what they really value can get pushed to the back of the priority list because of other demands on their time.
So how in tune are you with what you love doing?, can you actually remember all the things that make you smile inside and out?, do you never seem to have the time/ resources/energy?, a lot of my clients find joy in remembering some of the things that they used to do and now feel that they would like to do again.
If you love doing something then, you love doing it for a reason so perhaps you should get back in touch with why you love doing it, stop making excuses and make it happen. The things you want to do are often inexpensive and don't always have to be time consuming, it may be just a case of reordering your priorities, trust me you will feel better for doing it!
Doing something you value and take note, it it should be something YOU love doing, brings you so many rewards that you will wonder why on earth you let life get in the way.
Relatively speaking it is a short time that we have on this wonderful planet of ours, squeeze enjoyment out of every day, it will make you smile inside and out.
